Warranty Policy
Last updated: 31 October 2025
This Warranty Policy explains what is covered, what is not covered, and how to make a warranty claim for items purchased from Compressor Parts Ltd at compressorparts.co.uk. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions, Refunds & Returns Policy, and Shipping & Delivery Policy.
1. Warranty Coverage
- Scope: Warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship only.
- Period: Unless stated otherwise on the product page, warranty is up to 12 months from the date of delivery. Where a different period is specified by the manufacturer/supplier, that period applies.
- Remedy: At our discretion (or the supplier’s), the product will be repaired, replaced, or refunded (partial or full) depending on age, usage, and parts availability.
- Territory: Warranty applies to orders delivered within mainland United Kingdom only.
2. What’s Not Covered (Exclusions)
- Incorrect installation, wiring, or commissioning; use outside the product’s rated specifications; unsuitable environment (heat, dust, moisture, vibration).
- Misuse, neglect, lack of routine maintenance, contamination (e.g., oil/water ingress), foreign object damage, or use of incorrect/contaminated lubricants.
- Normal wear-and-tear and consumables (e.g., filters, belts, oil, separators, gaskets, O-rings, valves, capacitors, fuses, seals, drain kits) unless expressly stated otherwise.
- Damage caused by third-party products, modifications, or non-approved parts/fluids.
- Cosmetic damage that does not affect function.
- Any costs associated with diagnosis, access, removal/re-fit, site attendance, engineer labour, lifting equipment, travel, or downtime.
- Consequential or indirect losses (loss of production, profit, or business opportunity).
3. Conditions of Warranty
- Products must be installed and serviced by a competent, qualified engineer in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Maintenance intervals, oil grades, and filter changes must adhere to the stated schedule; keep service records and receipts.
- Electrical parts may be tested off-site; acceptance of a claim is subject to supplier/manufacturer inspection and test results.
- Serial numbers/ID labels must be intact and legible.
4. Dead on Arrival (DOA) & Transit Damage
Please inspect deliveries on arrival. Visible damage or DOA issues must be reported within 48 hours of receipt to sales@compressorparts.co.uk with photos and your order number. Claims raised outside this window may not be accepted.
5. How to Make a Warranty Claim
Email: sales@compressorparts.co.uk
Subject line: Warranty Claim – [Order Number]
Please include:
- Order number, product code/SKU, and (if applicable) serial number.
- Purchase date and installation date.
- Clear description of the fault and when it occurs; photos/videos where possible.
- Evidence of professional installation and service history (if applicable).
6. Returns & Inspections
- We may request return of the product (or the suspect component) for inspection/testing by us or the manufacturer/supplier.
- In the first instance, return shipping is usually arranged and paid by the customer. If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, we may reimburse reasonable carriage costs or arrange collection at our discretion.
- Advance replacements are not guaranteed and are provided only where authorised stock is available and the claim is likely to be upheld.
7. Remedies
If a manufacturing defect is confirmed within the warranty period, we will (at our or the supplier’s discretion):
- Repair the product or supply the necessary parts; or
- Replace the product with the same or equivalent item; or
- Refund part or all of the purchase price, taking into account the period of use.
Where an item is discontinued, an equivalent alternative may be offered.
8. Compatibility & Suitability
It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure the product is suitable for the intended application. We make every effort to provide accurate information, but errors can occur and stock details are updated once per day. If you are unsure, please contact us before purchase.
9. Limitation of Liability
Our total liability in respect of any warranty claim shall not exceed the purchase price of the product. Nothing in this policy limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
10. OEM vs Aftermarket Parts
We supply both OEM and high-quality aftermarket parts. Warranty coverage is provided by the respective manufacturer/supplier. Using aftermarket parts does not automatically void equipment warranties, but you should check your equipment manufacturer’s terms before installation.
11. Business Customers
Where the buyer is purchasing in the course of business, statutory consumer rights relating to cancellation and certain implied terms may not apply. This policy is in addition to your legal rights under applicable UK law.
